Trust Development

Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust is a large cross-phase MAT in Bradford. As of January 2020, we have 17 open academies – four secondaries and 13 primaries. We provide education for over 8,500 students and employing nearly 1,500 teachers and support staff, with a budget of £54m.

We work with schools of all different contexts and backgrounds, including good and outstanding schools and we support schools in special measures. We recognise that each of our schools is unique and value their differences and the communities they represent.

The next stage of the journey for BDAT is set out in our three year plan 2019 – 2022 “From Growth to Great” agreed by the Board in April 2019.

This plan sees a deliberate move for the Trust away from being driven by growth and numbers to focussing on being a great Trust and great employer. The three year strategy is underpinned by a one year annual delivery plan for 2019-20 setting out the plans and priorities for the coming year.
