Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust is a family of schools working collaboratively to drive outcomes and experiences for young people across our 21 schools within Bradford.
We are an Academy Trust or partnership of schools committed to working together so that each of the children in our schools get the very best quality of education we can deliver and has a very happy and exciting time during their time with our schools.
We work together to put our students first as we firmly believe “that every child has only one chance at a good education”.
As a Trust we are proud to work and educate in Bradford – the youngest city in Europe here 25.7% of the population are aged under 18. Our schools represent a very diverse and vibrant range of communities with ethnic minorities making up 43% of the total population of Bradford. There are 160 languages spoken by children attending schools in the district.
At BDAT we recognise that each of our schools is unique and distinct to the community it serves and the students who walk through it’s door. Fundamentally however we know working collaboratively we can be stronger: together @WeAreBDAT
At our centre, BDAT and our schools share a set of values known as ICARE (inclusion, compassion, aspiration, resilience and excellence). These provide a common driver and way of working for all of our schools. While the ICARE values can be described as Christian values reflecting our heritage as a Church Trust set up by the Diocese of Leeds, at BDAT we believe these values are inclusive and appropriate to all faiths and to those of no faith rather than exclusively Christian. This enables us to work with both Church schools and non-church schools and to support the many diverse and distinct communities we serve across Bradford.
Student voice remains an absolutely key driver as we work hard to ensure that our young students are given the right skills and training to be the leaders of future Bradford and beyond. We want our students to be confident to have a voice working across our schools on the key issues and drivers which are impacting across the City of Bradford as we run up to Bradford City of Culture 2025.
