Staff and students at Immanuel College are celebrating this summer with the exciting news that the school is set to extend its sixth form provision to welcome another 100 students across years 12 and 13.
The new build will enable the College to provide vocational and A-level qualifications for a further 100 students taking the College to 330 sixth form students by September 2025.
The college, based in Idle, Bradford, has previously extended its lower school key stage 3 and 4 provision and continues to be oversubscribed. Today’s announcement confirms the post-16 provision will now also be extended to match the growing lower school.
Immanuel College is well recognised in providing high quality learning and outcomes for students across the school. In 2022, the College secured some of the highest A-level and vocational level 3 outcomes in the city with 93% of students securing A*- C grades at A-level and 97% of students progressing to higher level education, employment or training.
As part of the new expansion approved by the Department for Education in May 2023, following a competitive funding application, the school has secured £4 million to create a new building to house the expanded sixth form. The new, state-of-the-art extension will comprise six new classrooms, social study space, a common room and a dining room complete with catering facilities.
The new school buildings will also be environmentally sustainable and more energy efficient to cut carbon emissions and the rising cost of bills.
