Students from Bradford Forster Academy enjoyed a day at City Hall, Bradford to take part in the ‘Talking Action’ linking event with other BDAT secondary schools.
On Friday 9th June, five of our Year 9 students attended ‘Talking Action’ held at City Hall in Bradford, an inter-school event with students from other BDAT schools. As well as introducing them to other students from the BDAT family, students learned about and discussed the following areas:
– Identity
– Sharing who we are and what we care about
– Understanding Bradford more
– Understanding the importance of values such as Kindness and Compassion
– Exploring what it means to be an ally and to stand up for other young people
– Exploring how we can take action on the things we care about and create change
Students had a fantastic day and were also treated to a tour of City Hall, seeing the Council Chambers, the Victorian Court Room and the Banqueting Hall (where the event was hosted).

“This was a great opportunity for our students to think deeply about some of the issues which affect how we live. Being able to do it in the company of other students from across the BDAT network enhanced the experience of appreciating commonly held values”
