News Belle Vue Girls’ Celebrates Students’ Excellent A Level Results

Year 13 students at Belle Vue Girls’ Academy are celebrating today after two years of hard work, dedication and commitment.

The Academy, part of Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, is celebrating another year of strong A Level and Applied outcomes. Students are now looking forward to progressing to university to pursue their ambitions to study a diverse range of disciplines, including medicine, pharmacy, law and social sciences.

There were many remarkable individual success stories, including:

• Alishia Bostan, achieving straight As in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. Alishia is now planning to continue her studies at the University of Bradford to pursue a career in Pharmacy.
• Laiba Ali, accomplishing straight As in Biology, Religious Studies, and Criminology and securing a place at the prestigious University of Leeds to study Cardiac Physiology (BSc). Laiba hopes to inspire young people, especially BAME girls interested in STEM, to pursue their ambitions.
• Qanita Inayat, achieving a grade A in Biology and grade Bs in Chemistry and Geography. Qanita has secured a place to study Medicine at Keele University. Qanita said: “I am really glad I chose to stay at BVGA. I am happy with my results and am excited to study medicine.  Everybody has been really encouraging and I am very grateful for all their support.”
• Henna Khan, achieving A* in English Literature, and Bs in Business, Sociology, and Spanish. Henna is now going on to an apprenticeship. Henna said: “Believe in yourself. All the hard work and effort will pay off.  Do it for yourself and you will be the most motivated version of yourself.”
• Rumaisa Ahmed, accomplishing grade Bs in Art & Design, Sociology, and Criminology. Rumaisa is heading to the Open University, where she will study Politics, Religious Studies and Ethics.
• Halima Azad, achieving Distinctions in Applied Law and Applied Science, as well as a grade A in Criminology and plans to study Law at Bradford University.

Halima achieved these results all while coping with the devastating loss of her mother just three weeks before her final examinations. Halima said: “Achieving the equivalent of three A’s in my A Levels despite losing my Mum during the exam season and caring for my three younger siblings, was the result of relentless hard work and determination.  My Mum always pushed me to do well in school and I hope I have made her proud.  I look forward to continuing to honour her by excelling in my law degree.”

The academy said “Halima’s outstanding results are a testament not only to her intellectual ability, but also to her strength of character. Despite facing one of the most difficult periods of her life, she persevered with her studies, demonstrating extraordinary focus and dedication. Her achievements have inspired both her peers and teachers, who describe her as a role model for determination in the face of adversity.”
