Immanuel College

Immanuel College, a dedicated Science college, is the second secondary school to be added to BDAT’s portfolio of associated Academies, having been deemed to exhibit the ideal profile to join the Trust’s growing list of Church of England partner schools. Immanuel College takes its name (Immanuel means ‘God among us’) very seriously, striving to provide its students with an education firmly rooted in Christian values. A 2010 inspection found the school to have an outstanding faith ethos, which they seek to impart to their students.

Its deep-seated Christian values are not, however, the only thing setting Immanuel College apart from other sixth-form colleges around the Bradford and Leeds area. The school is also known for its students impressive GCSE scores, with many going on to read courses at prestigious universities such as Cambridge. This above-average academic performance (the college placed fourth for achievement among schools in the Bradford Local Authority in 2015) is a point of pride for BDAT with regards to Immanuel College, and should serve as encouraging evidence for parents seeking to enrol their secondary-school-aged children at this science college.

Further, Immanuel College’s curriculum provides outstanding opportunities for students to develop self-esteem and foster ambition. The school aims to ensure that students are exceptionally well prepared for adult life so that they can be productive and caring members of British society.
