Wycliffe CE Primary School, located on Saltaire Road in Shipley, West Yorkshire, is celebrating a series of impressive achievements at Skipton Music Festival on 12th March, where pupils across multiple age groups were recognised for their excellence in recorder performance. The school is part of the Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust (BDAT), a family of schools providing high-quality education within a caring Christian ethos.
Pupils competed in a wide range of recorder classes, achieving top placements in solo, duet and group categories. First place finishes featured prominently, alongside strong second and third place results. The pupils were taught and supported by Fiona Smith, whose dedication and expertise have helped them achieve these successes.
The festival brought together young musicians from across the region and gave pupils the chance to share their talents in front of adjudicators and peers. Wycliffe pupils impressed with both their musical ability and their sense of togetherness, particularly in ensemble performances where groups earned top honours.
Music is an important part of life at Wycliffe, and these achievements reflect the enthusiasm of both pupils and staff, as well as the school’s supportive approach to learning and performing.
