News IMMANUEL COLLEGE RETAINS GOOD STATUS IN 2019 OFSTED INSPECTION

Seven years after their last inspection, staff and students at Immanuel College are proud to confirm that the school remains a good education provider following an OFSTED short inspection on 9th January 2019.

Inspectors commented that the school has “a strong and determined middle and senior leadership teams, who are ambitious for the school’s future and have the capacity to effect the rapid changes and actions the school needs to improve towards becoming outstanding”.

Governors were complimented for their commitment, knowledge and confidence in the school and, most importantly, students were praised for their “positive attitudes to learning in lessons”.

Inspectors also deemed safeguarding to be effective across Immanuel College noting that “the school goes above and beyond to ensure children are safe”. This was supported by the views of parents who reported that welfare support and care for pupils was of a high standard. Parents also referred positively to school leadership, the provision for pupils with special educational needs and the quality of teaching and learning in the classroom.

Sixth form provision was also noted to be a strength of the school, despite not being a focus of the inspection.

Immanuel College, a member of the Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, converted to become an Academy in 2014. Carol Dewhurst, CEO of the Trust, commented “We are really pleased that the consistent high standard of education delivered by Immanuel has been recognised throughout this report. The staff and leadership at the school have a relentless drive to ensuring that every child gets the very best education and experience growing up during the time at the school, and our pupils work extremely hard to secure that vision.

This report is a positive testament to the effort and commitment of both the staff and students at Immanuel College”.
