The next Trust Annual Conference is scheduled for Friday 23rd October 2026 and will be centred around Belonging. The BDAT Staff Excellence Award winners for 2025 – 2026 will also be announced on this date.
In the meantime below are the highlights from the fifth Trust Annual Conference.
On the 24th October 2025 we held the fifth Trust Annual Conference. This year’s conference marked a significant milestone as we proudly launched BDAT’s Strategic Plan and Priorities to 2030 – Excellence for All. This long-term vision sets out our commitment to embedding excellence across every aspect of our work.
Please view the Strategy Booklet here.
The conference brought staff together to focus on one of the Trusts five values. 2025 was a year looking at the importance of excellence for both staff and students.
Our day started with a moment of reflection, please watch below:
Our very own CEO, Carol Dewhurst introduced the Conference. You can view Carols opening remarks below.
We were then welcomed by our host for the day, Peg Alexander, who has hosted our conference every year since it began 2021.
Next came some of our pupils talking about their understanding of Educational Excellence.
We were then delighted to have a wonderful talk by our keynote speaker Adeeba Malik, CBE, DL who gave us some fascinating and inspirational insight into her life.
The next clip is Part One of our Staff Excellence Awards. You can see all the winners and runners up by clicking here.
Individual schools then chose to watch any 3 of the following school case studies, filmed in our BDAT schools.
Conference attendees then watched another Pupil Voice video, this time about Extra-Curricular Excellence:
Next we celebrated Part 2 of the Staff Excellence Awards:
Back to the pupils who talked to us about “What will be Excellent for me in 2030”.
Finally we watched Part 3 and the remainder of the Staff Excellence Awards:
The closing words for the conference were from our Chair of Trustees, Tessa Mason, OBE.
We hope you enjoyed sharing the fifth BDAT Annual Staff Conference with us.
