Students at Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College (BBEC), located on Reevy Road West and part of Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results which demonstrate their hard work and commitment over the last two years.
The Academy was particularly pleased to see a significant increase in the number of high prior attaining students achieving a grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, whilst the number of students with Special Educational Needs achieving a grade 5 or above in both these subjects more than doubled since last year. The performance of students with English as an additional language was also cause for celebration.
Outcomes in Spanish were very strong, with students not only achieving the highest attainment grades, but also in terms of their individual progress measures.
BBEC students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen further education institutions, with some choosing A Level courses, others a vocational or apprenticeship route.

Collecting her GCSE results today, Teoni Bent said:
“I am buzzing about my results and got a lot better than I expected. I am looking forward to going to Calerdale College to study Health and Social Care.”
Andrew Taylor, Headteacher at BBEC, said:
“I am pleased that the hard work and determination shown by BBEC students has paid off, with many achieving far beyond their own expectations. I am full of admiration for their ambition and resilience and am tremendously proud of their achievements.
“I would like to thank all the staff at BBEC who have worked tirelessly to support all students both during and prior to their exams. The most important thing is that the vast majority of students have achieved the results necessary for their chosen courses in September and I am certain that they will go onto even greater things.”
