Pupils and staff from Cullingworth Primary school ended the summer term celebrating a milestone as one of their teachers reached an incredible 30 years teaching at the school.
Mrs O’ Hare, originally from Keighley attended Oakbank school before attending Didsbury School of Education at Manchester Metropolitan University. She started her teaching career at the Cullingworth old school site in 1994. Over the last 30 years, Mrs O’ Hare has taught at Cullingworth Primary from Reception to Year 6, across all age groups. She supported school as a Special Needs Coordinator for many years and continues as a deputy safeguarding lead at the school.
Throughout her career to date, Mrs O’ Hare has always shown her dedication to the wider life of school and children’s personal development. She has supported residential trips to encourage adventurous learning opportunities, planned exciting school trips and keenly attended sporting competitions. Mrs O’ Hare has a passion for making learning exciting and will often dress up in character to support these memorable curriculum experiences.
Mrs O’Hare is also a valued member of the Parent Teacher Assosication (PTA), supporting events such as the school disco and helps plan our annual Rose Queen day, which raises vital funds to support school.
In 2023 Mrs O’ Hare led the Eco Council to achieve the Eco Schools award. This year she coordinated the first Eco Climate conference at the village hall, which was an enormous success. She has been heavily involved in the tree planting to enhance the school grounds, with over 1000 saplings planted in the last 3 years.
The school celebrated this amazing 30 year career milestone with a whole school picnic on the field and a visit from the ice cream van. The school also held a special assembly to celebrate Mrs O’ Hare’s commitment to the school, looking at photographs of her teaching career.
Cullingworth Primary is located in the thriving village of Cullingworth on the outskirts of Bradford and is part of the successful Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust which leads a family of fourteen primaries, four secondaries and one through school across the region to deliver high quality education within the context of Christian belief and practice.
