‘There seems to be conflict all around us. If resetting relationships can do what it says on the tin then we will all improve our lives’.
(Students at Immanuel College).
‘The topic of consent is important to me as people need to feel safe on public transport when they are on buses and trains. I have become involved with the group as I want to make sure people are safe inside and outside of school’.
(Cameron, student at Bridgemary School)
‘The topic of consent is important to me because I believe strongly in spreading awareness about sexual assault and harassment and making sure that people understand the severity around problems concerning consent. I have become involved in Relationships Reset because I want to be able to help people realise what the term consent is so that they can keep safe. As part of the project I have attended meetings, given assemblies and am a part of a summit taking place in December’.
(Julie, student at Bridgemary School)
‘It is important to raise awareness about the topic of consent and how it affects people. If we, as a group, can help at least one person through an issue to do with lack of consent we will feel a huge sense of completion. As a part of this project, we have been involved in online meetings with other schools within this community to hear their opinions and beliefs about this programme too.’
(Ella, student at Bridgemary School)
‘The topic of consent is important to me because it has helped me to stand up for myself against inappropriate behaviour. It is also really important to me because a lot of my peers take public transport and they could encounter sexual harassment and abuse. If my peers know about consent then they will be able to challenge it when they experience it. People always need to ask for consent. I have become in Relationships Reset to get a better understanding of consent and how to challenge people’.
(Halilath, student at Belle Vue Girls’ Academy)
‘Consent is important to me because people should feel confident in using their voice and they shouldn’t be forced to do anything against their will. I have become involved in Relationships Reset because I think everyone should be educated about consent and they should be empowered to say no’.
(Khadija, student at Belle Vue Girls’ Academy)
‘Many people are not confident enough to talk about consent and sexual harassment, so I want to take responsibility for my actions and to help everyone with these important topics.’
(Areeba, student at Belle Vue Girls’ Academy)
‘It is important that young people are educated about consent because it can happen to them and their peers and so they know how to respond they are experiencing sexual harassment’. (Daniella, student at Belle Vue Girls’ Academy)
